The third issue of the Journal of Traditional Building, Architecture and Urbanism has been published. Through this link you can download the complete issue, or any of the articles separately.
Printed copies of this and the first two issues of the magazine are available free of charge. Those interested should only arrange and pay the shipping costs through the company in charge of its distribution. If you are interested in receiving a printed copy of any of the first three issues of the journal, please write to intbau.es@gmail.com
In addition, the call for submissions of articles for all sections of the next issue is open until March 21, 2023. The submitted proposals will be eligible for publication in the journal, as well as, if the organizing team deems it appropriate, for the author's participation in the Fourth International Conference on Traditional Building, Architecture and Urbanism.

Registration is still open for the Third International Conference on Traditional Building, Architecture and Urbanism: Timeless Architecture 2022

­
The Conference, which will be held on November 18, 19 and 20, 2022, is aimed at all those people and institutions interested in traditional building, architecture and urbanism. Its contents are related to the practice and training in the traditional building trades, and, therefore, in addition to a conference session at the School of Architecture of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid on Friday morning, a series of workshops will be visited and some routes will be made through Madrid, Segovia and Toledo, guided by different traditional building crafts masters.

Deadline for submission of proposals for the first phase of the 2022-2024 Richard H. Driehaus Architecture Competition has been extended

­
In this first phase, municipalities in Spain are encouraged to submit proposals for possible themes and locations for this competition. An international jury representing the various institutions collaborating in this initiative will select the three proposals that best meet the objectives which have been set out. Interested municipalities must provide, before January 17, 2022, the required documentation.

The European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards aim to identify, recognize and defend best practices in the preservation of cultural heritage. The call is open until November 25, 2022.

The finalists of the 15th edition of the National Crafts Awards have been published

This year's finalists are Blancafort Orgueners de Montserrat, Artesanía en Vidrio J. Sorribes and Paco Luis Martos. The latter two are part of the Spanish Network of Traditional Building Crafts Masters.

MASTER CRAFTSPERSON OF THE MONTH - Nuria Casadevall

Nuria Casadevall belongs to a family of scagliola masters from Barcelona who have been working in the trade uninterruptedly since 1881. Nuria's work focuses on the restoration and recovery of scagliola coatings, for which she uses various techniques and performs different types of finishes. She masters a wide variety of techniques involving the use of lime for the realization of facade and wall coverings. Sgraffito and hot-ironed scagliola are the works she carries out most frequently, together with the restoration of mural paintings.
